Friday 16
CAMILLA NOCI & Os PARCEIROS
h 10 pm
Jazz Night

At the end of the 1960s, a blazing wave of creativity, called bossa nova, invaded Brazilian music with the new melodies that Jobim wrote with his "parceiros", collaborators, authors and musicians.
Camilla Noci, a songwriter and roman interpreter, in love with Brazilian music in all its shades, from bossa nova to Mpb, chorus to samba, tries to revive her with the help of her "parceiros".
The trio plays songs from Djavan, Ivan Lins, Vanessa da Mata, Ivete Sangalo, and also the traditional ones by Antonio Carlos Jobim, Carlos Lyra, Caetano Veloso, Baden Powell, but also typical of the carnival and Pagoda tradition. Executive style is unmistakably the Brazilian one, a modern distillate of the essence of popular music, resulting in Bossanova, elegant rhythmic stylization of samba. There are, however, African and Jazz contaminations. The link between jazz and Brazilian music has always been very strong and dates back to the 1950s, when with the boss new rhythmic structures are reduced and brought back to their essentiality, transformed into a syncopated rhythm with an emphasis on rising, whose asymmetry remembers Undoubtedly the jazzy textures

JONAS BLUES BAND
h 10 pm
Blues Night

The core of Jona's Blues Band was born by two cousins ??Gianni Franchi (electric bass and voice) and Luca Casagrande (guitar and voice) in the early 80's. Meet the drummer Ranieri De Luca the still unnamed trio begins to perform in small venues and parties in the capital. The band's definitive formation was made in 1985 when the band joined the harmonicist Marco Corteggiani and the band formed so for the first time was nominated for Jona's Blues Band. With this training for over 15 years, Jona's Blues Band performs in numerous concerts at the festivals and clubs of the Capital, distinguishing itself for a very personal sound and the composition of original songs. The band is reported in the culture section of Tuttocittà in Rome, while their musical mix is ??defined by some newspapers as "blues spaghetti" and by great jazzist Tony Scott (who occasionally joins them in jam sessions) as cosmic blues. At the end of the 1980s, the band met Afroamerican singer Harold Bradley, the mythical founder of Folkstudio, who will form a very successful partnership. Harold Bradley & Jona's Blues Band has for many years been the most successful band of the Capital with performances in all the Roman clubs, numerous Italian festivals and some television appearances. Of the formations of those years ago, a large section of winds composed by Michael Supnick and Beppe Carrieri. In the early 1990s, the band decided to follow their own way by dedicating themselves to their original repertoire. This is how the album "Check it out" is born with all the songs composed by the band. One of the greatest saxophonists in the capital is Tony Formichella (sax) and Tonino Maiorani (piano), Silvia Simoni (voice). Another important collaboration starts with the African American singer born in Chicago Shawn Logan, who was steadily in the capital in those years. Expecting Shawn Logan at the Risido 'of Pistoia are heard by some of the Pistoia Blues organizers are invited to play at this Blues Festival in 1994. In the same years, director Carlo Verdone, who on several occasions had listened to them live, invited them to participate To a scene of the movie "Cursed the day I met you" where the band performs the song "To be happy" by them composed. In the 1990s, the band collaborated with Harold Bradley and performed with the singer-songwriter Chicago Beau, the singer Deitra Farr, with James Thompson and Herbie Goins. Also to be mentioned is the performance of guitarist Luca Casagrande in 1993 at the Striped Tent Theater in Rome, where he accompanies one of Jona's idols, the great Jimmy Witherspoon. In 2000 Jona's Blues band decided to take a break, in which its members devote themselves to personal projects and other musical experiences. During this period, band members collaborate with other blues-active groups: Ranieri De Luca with the Almost Blues Band and Marco Corteggiani with the Red Wagons. Guitarist Luca Casagrande is dedicated to solo acoustic guitars, also winning a major solo competition in the US, and recently is a regular companion of the comic-imitator Max Giusti and now in the band of Radiodue Supermax. The break lasts until 2006 when the band, a bit like the Blues Brothers movie, meets for a Stage Beer concert and for a record project. In 2007 he joined the band in exchange for Luca Casagrande, Andrea De Luca, guitarist, singer and author. He collaborates with the band in this period also by vocalist Paola Ronci, a well-known blues singer from Abruzzo. With this format the band participates in Liri Blues Festival opening the Campbell Brothers concert, the Sezze Blues Festival by Herbie Goins, and the Lepini Blues Festival 2010. 2010 also features the release of the album "Back to Life", featuring a large number of guests and friends of the band. The work that began two years earlier saw the presence of Harold Bradley (voice), Claudia Marss (voice), Fulvio Tomaino (voice), Marco Meucci (Red wagons), Mario Donatone (piano and voice), Herbie Goins (voice), Mario (Blue Stuff) Rodolfo Maltese (Bank of Mutual Relief) Luca Casagrande, a great Italian jazz player Stefano Sabatini (piano and keyboards), composed by Mike Applebaum, Eric Daniel, Mauro Massei, two important characters from the world of Show that with their presence wanted to show their support for Jona's Blues Band's record project: Carlo Verdone who played the drum with us in a blues song (Trouble by Chris Farlowe) he chose, with his son Paul on the guitar And he also wrote the CD cover notes.
